TheLifeOS keeps tracking to a minimum. We use your browser's local storage to run the app, secure cookies to sign you in, and the Meta Pixel to measure the ads that brought you here.
What cookies & storage are
Cookies and similar technologies (like localStorage) are small pieces of data a site stores in your browser. We use them for the four purposes below — nothing else.
What we use
1. Essential storage
TheLifeOS stores your settings and your data in your browser's local storage under the lifeos_ prefix. This is what makes the app fast, local-first and able to work offline. It's required for the app to function.
2. Authentication
When you sign in we use secure cookies and tokens to keep you logged in — including your Supabase session and, for the owner, an httpOnly admin cookie. These are essential while you're signed in and aren't used for tracking.
3. Measurement & advertising
We run ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and use the Meta Pixel to measure whether they work. It sets cookies and reports a small number of events to Meta — page views, account sign-ups, and purchases (with their value) — so we can see which ads lead to sign-ups and improve them. It never receives the contents of your entries. You can opt out via your Meta ad settings, your browser's cookie controls, or a tracking blocker.
4. Analytics
We keep a simple, first-party count of how many people open the site — no personal data and no profile of you. We don't use third-party analytics that read the contents of your entries.
What we don't do
- We don't sell cookie or personal data to anyone.
- We don't use cookies to read or share the contents of your check-ins, journal or other entries.
- We don't fingerprint your device to build a hidden profile.
Your choices
Essential and authentication cookies are needed for the app to work, so they can't be turned off while you use it. The Meta Pixel (measurement/advertising) is optional — you can decline non-essential cookies in our consent banner where shown, block them in your browser, or opt out through Meta's ad settings. You can also clear TheLifeOS's local storage and cookies from your browser at any time, or wipe your data directly from the in-app Settings (note that clearing essential storage signs you out and removes locally-stored entries that haven't been synced).
